Email us about recording, transcription, sync, export, privacy, or any other TocArc issue. Include your TocArc version, Apple device, operating system version, and the steps that led to the problem.
Please do not attach classroom audio or transcripts unless support specifically requests them.
Microphone or recording issues
Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and allow TocArc. Keep enough free device storage available and confirm the desired audio input is connected before recording.
Transcription or translation is waiting
Open TocArc’s Local Intelligence panel and install the required Apple speech, translation, or language resources. Recording and playback remain available while resources are downloading.
iCloud sync
Sign in to iCloud, enable iCloud Drive, and turn on TocArc sync in the app. Original files remain available locally; private CloudKit sync continues when the device is online.
Export or delete your data
Use TocArc Settings to export portable session packages, audio, plain text, Markdown, or JSON. The same area provides deletion controls for local data and queued iCloud deletion.

What TocArc handles
TocArc handles audio recordings and user-created classroom content, including transcripts, translations, markers, course and session details, learning materials, questions, answers, and exports.
How it is used
This data is used only to provide app functionality: recording, playback, transcription, translation, organization, search, evidence-backed question answering, export, recovery, and optional synchronization.
Where processing happens
Classroom audio, transcripts, translations, prompts, and generated learning materials are processed on your device using Apple system technologies on supported devices. TocArc does not send them to third-party AI services or Private Cloud Compute.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, selected audio and classroom content are stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit account so they can stay available across your devices. The data may be linked to your Apple account for this functionality and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Permissions
TocArc may request microphone access for recording, speech recognition access for transcription, notifications for recording safety and processing status, and background execution to finish authorized work. You can change permissions in system Settings.
Tracking, ads, and sale
TocArc does not track you across apps or websites, does not include advertising SDKs, and does not sell personal data. The app does not require a TocArc account.
Retention and deletion
Your content remains until you delete it or remove the app and its data. TocArc provides export and deletion controls. When iCloud sync is enabled, deletion requests are synchronized to your private CloudKit database; requests made while offline may complete after the next successful sync.
Security and choices
TocArc uses Apple platform protections and keeps original audio as the local source of truth. You can disable iCloud sync, Live Activities, captions, and notifications independently without losing basic local recording and playback.

This policy may be updated when TocArc’s data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy or support requests, email support.tocarc@gmail.com.
